Touching Tribute From Selena's Husband Chris Perez For Another Anniversary Of The Singer's Cruel Death
Every March 31, the world honors the memory of adorable American singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez. Her amazing career was drastically interrupted by greed and aversion of the president of her fan club. Yolanda Saldívar shot the charming singer on March 31, 1995. Today, Selena’s first love and husband commemorates her legendary character every year on the day of her passing.
The Queen of Tejano music was a cheerful and lovely girl. Her Mexican-American style made her a top-selling performer of the 90s, and her cooperation with cosmetics brand Mac Cosmetics made her collection the best-sold celebrity product in the history of showbiz.
Talking about her private life, the singer, model, and songwriter Selena immediately fell in love with Chris Perez – a young guitarist who created a few jingles for her commercials with Coca-Cola.
The couple soon shared their feelings towards each other and began dating secretly, being afraid of her father. Unfortunately, the passionate relationship didn’t last for long.
When the singer’s family accused Selena's fan club director Yolanda Saldívar of embezzlement, her mean nature decided not to sit silently. She bought a gun, arrived at Quintanilla’s motel, and shot the 23-year-old cutie in the back. The doctors tried hard to save the singer’s life, but she lost too much blood to be able to recover. Yolanda was charged with the first-degree murder and was sued to life imprisonment, being eligible for parole only in 2025. The unfortunate death influenced Selena’s beloved man Perez greatly.
He remained faithful to the singer and continued paying her touching tributes every year. This one was not an exception:
Although we all have our trials and tribulations that we have to go through in this life... We MUST be thankful for the ones that we meet along the way...that made us realize...love is REAL...love is UNCONDITIONAL...love NEVER DIES. #MyCoco.
Selena may be not with us anymore, but her soul is still there for us, as her fans will remember her forever.
Hard to believe it's been 23 years since Selena Y Los Dinos played our "Last Concert" in the Houston Astrodome.
