Date December 10, 2018 19:27

Rosemary and Christina Alubankudi are 24-year-old albino identical twins who inspire others to be proud of themselves and never give up. The sisters were born with this rare genetic condition, caused by a partial or complete lack of melanin.

The sisters have recently got a Master’s Degree in Global Fashion Enterprise at Thomas Jefferson University and Philadelphia University. They love fashion and accept their condition with dignity.

Rosemary and Christina’s love for fashion is truly inspiring:

Our big message would be to just embrace your skin, embrace your beauty. Use fashion to enhance yourself and conquer your confidence and be the best person you could be.

But they were not always so confident and happy. There were times when they didn’t have any friends and were afraid to be among people.

We would literally sit on our own; some people didn’t sit with us. We had a couple of friends that would sit up with us once in a while.

But their attitude changed when they graduated and went to college. They met a lot of friendly, open-minded people, and understood they shouldn’t be shy as everybody is different.

I feel like college was a whole other ball game. Like a whole other world that just opened your eyes to there are so many different people.

Albinism occurs in all racial and ethnic groups. According to the statistics, one person in 20,000 will be born with this condition in the US. In other countries, the occurrence can vary, and be as high as one in 3,000. It is rather interesting that people with albinism usually have parents who are not albinos.

Twins often amaze the public by their beauty and they often become popular in social media. For example, these two girls, Megan and Morgan, have one detail that makes them look not like other people: their eyes.

Leah Rose and Ava Marie started to receive compliments from people right after they were born. Their mother even thought about taking them to a modeling agency but then decided just to create a page on Instagram.

Lucy and Maria Aylmer were born with different skin tones as their parents belong to different ethnicities. Their father is Caucasian, and mother - partly Jamaican.
