Some people achieve fame by playing an unforgettable part in an Academy Award-winning movie. Some become known for their achievements in the science field. And then, there are people who become famous for their looks. Well, Bobbi-Jo Westley’s look you’ll never forget!
The biggest hips
Bobbi-Jo is a woman, living in York, Pennsylvania, and striving to have the world’s biggest hips. She weighs 542 pounds and has hips that measure 93 inches. The current Guinness World Record is held by Mikel Ruffinelli, whose hips were 99 inches.
You wouldn’t believe it, but Bobbi-Jo has a huge fan base. Many men admire her shape, and some of them even proposed to the woman. She even has so-called “crushing sessions”, where fans pay her to have Bobbi-Jo sit on them. Westley comments on her body:
My hips are what makes me unique. It’s what makes me ‘me.’ When I realized that there were men out there who like my shape, I was kind of surprised. I get all kinds of presents and messages from my fans, some of them ask ‘will you marry me?,’ which is kind of hard because I’m already married.
Expert's point of view
Bobbi-Jo was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid around seven years ago. The woman is quite sure that it is a reason for her weight gain. However, the nutritionist, Nadia Sharifi, states that this is just a self-protective mechanism:
It’s literally a life-or-death choice at this point. Hormones, or thyroid issues, or blood type or ancestry might play a little part, but ultimately it’s down to what we put into our mouth.
Nadia also calls Bobbi-Jo a “ticking time bomb”, as her veins can block very easily on any day. However, Bobbi-Jo is not planning to stop. Although she realizes the risks, the woman is dedicated to achieving her goal.
The thinnest waist
It is not the first time people are doing radical things for beauty, love, and fame. Ethel Granger was the opposite of Bobbi-Jo. Ethel was born in the early 1900s and holds the Guinness World Record for the smallest waist.
The woman’s waist was only 13 inches (33 cm) with normal stature. Unlike Bobbi, Ethel did this for her husband who loved corsets and thin waists. She went from 22 inches (56 cm) to the record numbers in 10 years.
Beauty is not only about body shape, clothes or make-up. The true beauty is always about one’s personality. Healthy body – healthy mind, and vice versa.
