The love story of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neil is something out of a romance novel. Their once-in-a-lifetime relationship is one that can bring to tears and melt one's heart.
Despite his numerous relationships, stunning Farrah was the one who stole Ryan’s heart. They were drawn to each other ever since the moment they met. Although their love had just as many lows as it had highs, Fawcett and O’Neil stayed devoted to each other until her last day.
Life-defining love story of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neil
Farrah Fawcett was Hollywood’s ultimate beauty. Her gorgeous smile and hair kicked off Farrah’s career, after which she quickly moved on to the television and movie roles. She was best known for her role in the TV series Charlie’s Angels, as well as her iconic red swimsuit poster.
O’Neil met Fawcett thanks to her then-husband Lee Majors. After a short while, Ryan and Farrah started their whirlwind romance, in 1979. Farrah quickly separated from Majors but remained married to him until 1982.
Interestingly, O’Neil and Fawcett never married, but they stayed together from 1989 to 1997. Their relationship was filled with failing careers, O’Neil’s struggles with alcohol addiction, and infidelity.

Although O’Neil found success after his role in the film Love Story (1970), his career left more to be desired after all. Similarly, Fawcett left Charlie’s Angels after just one season, hoping to move away from the sex symbol status, but wasn’t successful in finding good roles.
Professional dissapointments left a mark on Ryan and Farrah’s relationship, which led to frequent arguments. The first phase of their life together ended in 1997, when O’Neil cheated on Farrah.
But the separation didn’t last very long. The couple reunited in 2001, after realizing they were still in love. They remained faithful to each other, until Farrah lost the battle with cancer in 2009.
O’Neil’s devastating heartbreak over Fawcett’s death
Farrah Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006, which forced O’Neil to become her caretaker. He was always by her side through the devastating experience with this terrible disease. Ryan was terrified of losing Farrag and couldn’t imagine his world without her.

After Fawcett’s death, O’Neil needed a long time to get his life back together, but he was never the same. In 2012, Ryan released a book Both of Us: My Life with Farrah. He described the writing process as “cathartic” and one that helped him partially heal the pain of losing the love of his life.
