Sophie has always been involved in charity work. She served as a national ambassador for Plan Canada's “Because I am a Girl” initiative, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Dove Pay Beauty Forward, the Canadian Mental Health Association, and other charities.

Speaking to CTV's Question Period, she once said in an interview that equality and children's rights were issues that were very "close to her heart."

How she met Justin Trudeau

When they were younger, Sophie was a friend and classmate of the late Michel Trudeau, Justin's youngest brother.

Sophie told Maclean Magazine in 2005 that she spent a lot of time at the Trudeau family home where she played with both boys. "They had a really cool pool with a trapeze and ropes and we could play Tarzan for hours,” she said.

The duo then reconnected when they ran into each other in 2003 at the Starlight Children's Foundation. Despite the fact that the two hit it off, Justin did not respond to an email she sent him after the event.

Justin later revealed to the magazine that at the time, he was not in the best place to pursue a relationship. Sophie, on her own end, had written Justin off as a man of "no class."

However, a few months later, they ran into each other on the street. When he asked for her number, it was Sophie who blew him off this time around, saying if he had saved her email, he would have had no problem getting in touch with her.

After that encounter, Justin sent her an email, and Sophie agreed to date. On that first date, it seemed the future Canadian PM was already smitten because he proclaimed that they would  "be spending the rest of [their] lives together."

They dated for a year before Justin asked her to marry him. The couple tied the knot in 2005. Since then, they have been spotted looking happy and in love with each other. The couple went on to have three children; Xavier James (born October 2007) Ella-Grace Margaret (born February 2009) and Hadrien Grégoire (born February 2014).

Michelle and Barack Obama

Another happily-in-love couple that continues to set #relationship goals is the former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle. They met in 1989 when Michelle was working as an advisor to Barack, a summer associate at Harvard Law at the time. We clicked right away...by the end of the date, it was over...I was sold,” Michelle once said. The pair has been married since 1992.

Happy Anniversary. ????
