It was a love story that everyone expected to fail, but Carla Bruni and former French President Nicholas Sarkozy have proved to the world that their love is real and a match made in heaven. The love these two share is best described in the quote:
I was in love a million times. First was when I met you and the rest was every time I look at you.
Carla Bruni And Nicolas Sarkozy
Carla Bruni Sarkozy, an Italian singer/songwriter and model, was born on the 23rd of December 1967. She was a model from the year 1987 to 1997 before taking up a career in music. Her husband, on the other hand, who was born Nicolas Paul Stephane Sarkozy on the 28th of January, 1955, is a French politician who served as the 23rd President of France.
How They Met
The couple, who met at a dinner party in 2007 in Seguela's home, had both recently split from their other halves. Bruni had just left her son's father, Raphael Enthoven, who she dated, and Sarkozy's second marriage had just ended.
That very evening, she read him some lyrics she had written. She wanted to impress him as a poet and at the end of the dinner party, she handed him the sheet containing her lyrics.
For both of them, it was love at first sight and when she appeared alongside him on dates exactly two months after he signed divorced document with ex-wife Cecilia, tongues were wagging, and everyone thought it was a fling that most certainly wouldn't last. The couple shocked everyone when they got married in February 2008.
A Love So Strong
Here they are, 9 years after they exchanged marital bliss, their love still waxing strong. Even when people believed they would definitely be separated after Nicolas lost the Presidential election to his opponent, they didn't.
Rather they retired to Bruni's home with her 11-year-old son and their daughter, as Bruni has returned to her career as a singer, with Nicolas as her muse. Those that expected their union to fail can only speculate and grow weary as their fairytale soap opera is never-ending. Moreover, the two have made it clear that they don't care about what people think or say about them.
Even when their marriage was rumored to be crashing, as both Bruni and Sarkozy were said to have allegedly taken up lovers, they not only declared it false, they came out stronger and more in love than ever before. Theirs is indeed a love story written in the stars.
Wishing them many more years of blissful togetherness!
